![]() "I wanted to provide an update for anyone who might have missed Ben’s post earlier: Our developers have identified the cause of the issue and have written code that will resolve the issue for affected users. It definitely sounds like a fix to the current issue This thread gives a bit more detail on the changes to FaceID. I'm not saying it hasn't been an issue, merely that a fix has been announced and is currently in beta. I do think it's pretty bad that FaceID hasn't worked for 8 months. It’s been 8 months FFS, being a part of a niche beta testing environment for devs who code is not an acceptable solution - and I bet you anything that whatever version they’re pushing won’t fix the basic FaceID issue. They don’t improve user experience.Įdit: saying it’s available to limited beta users is not a good answer. Did you even go through that list? They’re things people didn’t ask for or nobody cares about. I’m tired of people defending 1Password for fucking up such a basic tablestakes feature and ghosting their user base for 8 months on this while adding other BS features nobody wants or cares about. Not a single mention of the bug or that they’re working on it. They never said they were fixing FaceID issues, just that they are making improvements to it. ![]() Moreover, check out the actual wording of the announcement. You don’t think it’s pretty ridiculous that something as basic as FaceID hasn’t worked for the last 8 months? They’ve announced fixes for this on a monthly basis, in addition to people on forums looking on it. I'd be very interested to hear this community's thoughts. People of Reddit - Is your experience actually that great? Sure, it's a smaller # of reviews due to the recent v8 release, but is this representative of the true user experience? The cynic in me thinks that the only reason so many Tech gurus and YouTubers are recommending 1P is the VC-backed promotion incentives. 1Password's app store reviews: They're not very good - 2.7 stars at the time that I'm writing this. So, I would want to be 100% certain that 1P is the best long-term option for me and my family. However, because of all of 1P's custom fields, it's not nearly as easy to move from 1P back to DL. On that note, I do like DL's simple, clean design. Simplicity and portability: As far as I can tell, it's going to be very easy to move from DL to 1P because DL only offers a few fixed fields for each login. This is especially important to my wife and elderly mother. you can just sit there and sip your coffee while the software does all of the logging in for you as soon as you hit the website. ![]()
